Question : I burned the back of my wrist 9 days ago. The burn is about 1 by ¾ of an inch. It is mostly healed, but ¼ of it is still oozing. Can I run (sweat), or should I wait until it's healed?

Burns are very prone to infection, so you should take good care of it until there is no more oozing.

Outdoor activities can cause dust and sweat to contaminate the healing area. So you should avoid these activities as much as possible until your skin has a chance to heal. It is tempting to resume activities when the area is almost healed. But waiting a few days until there is no more oozing will reduce the chance of infection.

If you burn your skin, cooling the area with ice or cold water as soon as possible can help minimize skin blistering and irritation. If burned areas do not continue to heal, it is important to see your doctor to check for possible infection.
