- Ask for an update on your baby's health.
- Examine your baby.
- Recommend one or more immunizations for your baby: DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis/whooping cough), Hib, polio, pneumococcus, Hepatitis B.
- Give you an opportunity to ask questions.

Things to keep in mind:
- Always use a car seat : backward-facing in the back seat until your baby is at least 12 months old and weighs 20 pounds.
- Do not put your baby to bed with a bottle or prop it in his mouth.
- Establish a bedtime routine and put your baby to bed while she is still awake.
- Consider starting solid foods like cereal, then strained fruits and vegetables.
- Introduce only one new food at a time and wait a few days between new foods.
- Talk and sing with your baby.
Schedule an appointment for your baby's next visit, usually at 6 months of age.
