Informing the public on issues of health was the goal when the Cleveland Health Museum opened on this date in 1940, under the direction of Bruno Gebhard, M.D. It was the first museum of its kind established as an independent entity, not associated with a medical institution. Today, the museum still offers programs to the members of the general public to inform them of the latest in good health care.
