You have three issues, each of which is quite common. How might they be related? Always feeling tired could be caused by not getting enough sleep. It can also be caused by iron deficiency anemia if your periods are heavy, as well as more frequent.
However, there are many other possible explanations. I suggest you focus on your irregular menstrual periods first.
An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) can cause abnormal menstrual patterns and a decreased energy level. Other reasons for having more frequent vaginal bleeding than expected include:
- Significant changes in body weight
- Hormonal shifts, often related to changes in hormonal methods of birth control
- An abnormality of the uterus, cervix or vagina
Of course, stress could explain all three problems -- irregular periods, insomnia and fatigue. Make an appointment with a health professional, even if you think the cause may be stress. A pelvic exam is a necessary when a woman newly develops abnormal menstrual bleeding.
