| Our calculator makes it easy to determine the right bra size for you. Fill in the numbers at right and click on "Get your bra size." However, if you should find yourself in a department store fitting room, miles from the nearest computer, we thought we'd give you some insight into the calculator's inner workings. - Measure your band size. Wrap a tape measure tightly around the top of your breasts and under your arms to determine the circumference in inches. Round up to the nearest inch. If you get an odd number, such as 31 inches, add one inch to get an even number.
- Verify your band size. To verify your band size, you also can measure the circumference just underneath your breasts. In this case, you should add five inches. Both measurements for steps 1 and 2 should be about equal.
- Determine your cup size. Measure loosely around the fullest part of your breasts, and subtract your band size from this number. The number that remains indicates your cup size:
- 0 = AA
- 1 = A
- 2 = B
- 3 = C
- 4 = D
- 5 = DD
To further confuse what may seem like numbers crunching and alphabet soup, there is some overlap in bra sizes. For example, 34D, 36C and 38B are relatively equivalent. So it is important to try on all three sizes for a proper fit.
