How do you treat a deep bruise?

My 7-month-old granddaughter rarely sleeps more than two hours at a stretch during the night. Her daytime naps are 30 minutes. She used to sleep six hours at night but her sleep habits changed suddenly and drastically. My daughter is suffering because of this sudden change in sleep habits and the baby must be as well. What are possible causes of this sudden change?

My mother has dementia. She's in an Alzheimer's facility and in a constant state of anxiety and depression. The number of medications she is on is incredible: Cymbalta, Depakote, Haloperidol, Aricept, Seroquel, Buspar, Trazodone, and Risperdal. They do not control her behavior. Is she at risk for dangerous drug interactions? How can I make sure her therapy is appropriately monitored?

My granddaughter is 26 months old. She's cheerful, physically active and developing normally language-wise. She attends a nursery school during and interacts well with children and adults. However, she sleeps 12 to 14 hours a night and two hours during the day. She often has to be woken in the morning or after her nap. She has always needed plenty of sleep but we wonder whether it is normal to sleep about 16 hours a day as a two-year old.
