Seizure
A seizure is a sudden change in the brain's normal electrical activity.
Generalized Seizures (Grand Mal Seizures)
Generalized seizures produce a physical convulsion as a result of an electrical abnormality in the brain.
Absence Seizures (Petit Mal Seizures)
An absence seizure causes a loss of consciousness for 30 seconds or less. It is barely noticeable, if at all.
Partial Seizures (Focal Seizures)
When only a portion of the brain is involved in a seizure it is called a partial seizure or focal seizure.
