My nose is chronically stopped up. Most days when I get up in the morning the first thing I have to do is blow my nose. What can I do about this congestion? What could be causing it? I get hay fever in the summer that makes me sneeze. But I also have problems in the winter.

At least once a week I experience a bout of dizziness. The room spins and I feel like I will fall. It is very sudden and random. The only thing I take is 5 mg of melatonin at night to help me sleep. Have you ever heard of melatonin causing this type of dizziness?

I have had a persistent cough for more the past 2 months. The cough is worse after eating and at night when I lie down. I had a chest X-ray which was normal. What might cause a persistent cough? I’ve never been a smoker.

My husband had an MRI to rule out any abnormal causes for benign positional vertigo. They discovered and a mass on his parotid gland, though it is most likely benign. Does a parotid mass always need to be removed? Or can it be watched to see how it progresses?

I keep getting a nose bleed from an area in my nostril that won’t heal completely. The scab does forms, but then it comes off and bleeds easily. What type of doctor should I visit for this? What causes it? Can it be treated?

For as long as I remember, I have no significant sense of smell. I haven’t smelled gas leaks, bacon, coffee, flowers, etc. I had Scarlet Fever when I was a kid, and I was told I lost my sense of smell right after. Can an infection cause permanent loss of smell? What else causes you to lose your sense of smell?
