Beef Pocket Pies

1 medium onion, diced
3 T. olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. ground beef
2 T. plain instant mashed potato flakes*
¼ c hot water
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground cloves
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground pepper
2 piecrusts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onion in oil for 5 minutes. Add garlic. Cook 1 minute. Add beef and cook until browned. Drain and set aside. In small bowl, combine potato flakes and hot water. Mix until smooth. Add to beef mixture. Add cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pepper and stir until blended. Set aside. Roll piecrusts flat and cut out six 4-inch circles. Spoon 1 T. beef mixture onto half of each circle. Moisten edges with water and fold circle in half, covering filling. Seal edges with a fork. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
