Delivery With A Big Audience You might consider videotaping the birth of your baby, but would you let a television station tape the delivery to show to its audience? John and Lillian Kerr did, and the first childbirth televised for the public took place on this date in 1952. An NBC affiliate in Denver taped the delivery and broadcast it over 49 NBC stations. Gordon Campbell Kerr weighed in at 5 pounds, 7 ounces and was delivered by Caesarean section at the Colorado General Hospital of the University of Colorado Medical School, Denver. The telecast was part of the March of Medicine program presented in association with the American Medical Associations annual clinical meeting.
