Sex During Pregnancy

Many people worry that sex during pregnancy can be harmful to the fetus. Sex is a normal, healthy activity during pregnancy as long as it feels pleasant and satisfying for you and your partner, and your obstetrical care provider hasn't cautioned against it. If sex is uncomfortable, consider experimenting with more comfortable lovemaking positions, or placing greater emphasis on kissing, hugging and touching, rather than intercourse. You may experience some cramps or even notice a spot or two of blood after intercourse. If the cramps and blood disappear on their own, there is little to worry about. If such symptoms persist or worsen, however, call your provider.
