Ankle Fracture
Whenever a bone breaks or cracks, the injury is called a fracture. In the ankle, three different bones can be fractured.
Ankle Sprain
An ankle sprain occurs when there is a stretch or tear in one or more of the ankle ligaments.
Foot Sprain
A foot sprain is a tear of ligaments, the tough bands of fibrous tissue that connect bones to one another inside a joint.
Friction Blisters
A friction blister is a soft pocket of raised skin filled with clear fluid caused by irritation from continuous rubbing or pressure.
Nail Trauma
A fingernail or toenail can be injured by a blow to the nail or by closing the finger or toe in a door or drawer. This kind of trauma commonly results in blood under the nail, a condition called subungual hematoma.
