Make This Smokeout Your Last

Smokers, mark your calendars! Each year, on the third Thursday of November, the American Cancer Society sponsors The Great American Smokeout. It's a perfect time to snuff out your habit.

After the 2002 Smokeout, a survey revealed:

  • About 19 percent of smokers reported that they participated in The Great American Smokeout.
  • Six percent of those participants said they still were not smoking one to five days later.

Need convincing? There are plenty of reasons to stop smoking. No one's suggesting it will be easy. But kicking the cigarette habit could be one of the smartest and healthiest decisions you'll ever make.
