A heel spur is an x-ray finding in which there is a bit of extra bone (spur) along the bottom or back of the heel bone. But a heel spur is not really a disease. Many people have spurs on their x-rays without pain. And many people with heel pain have no spur!

For a long time, I have had lumps on the bottom of one foot in the arch area, toward the inner half of my foot. They are the size of marbles. I don’t think they are getting larger. But now I get pain in that area when walking or if I stand for a long time. What’s going on? Are these tumors that need to be cut out?
