I am a runner. I have bruising on my legs after running. This only happens when I am racing, not during my everyday runs. Could this be caused by poor circulation? I've been running for 10 years and I’ve never experienced this until a few months ago.

I’ve been active in sports my entire life. I had debridement surgery on my right ankle one year ago. It’s still painful. Have there been any medical advances to either replace the cartilage (synthetic or real) or re-grow cartilage?

At 78 years old, I am in pretty good shape. A couple of years ago, an echocardiogram showed a small leak in my mitral valve. A year later, a follow-up test showed some leakage in my tricuspid valve. I went to the doctor for some white patches on my arms. My doctor told me I had tinea versicolor, a type of fungus that destroys the melanin in your skin. He prescribed anti-fungal shampoo to clear it up. But is there a way to make sure you don’t get it again? I’ve read that some people are more prone to getting it.

Over the past 3 weeks, I’ve developed pain in my ankles, Achilles tendon, knee and elbows. The pain is minor to severe, and it feels like the pain moves from joint to joint. I haven’t changed my routine or had any injuries. So what could cause this?

I’ve had sciatica for a couple of weeks now. I’d like to exercise, but I don’t seem to get any better or worse whether I do or don’t. The pain is worse at night and first thing in the morning. I’ve had X-rays, but they don’t show anything. Can I exercise 4 days a week to keep on my fitness schedule? My back doesn’t hurt at all — it’s just the sciatica.
